In 2006 when the Hamilton Waterfront Trail Extension (Pier 4 to Catharine Street) was opened, the Hamilton Waterfront Trust sponsored visual artwork by elementary and secondary school students in Hamilton. Over 35 murals were created and they are mounted on the Hamilton Port Authority warehouses on Pier 8.

In 2007 and 2008 the Hamilton Waterfront Trust in partnership with the Hamilton Port Authority and the City of Hamilton, continued this program in order to provide opportunity for students in Hamilton to show their artistic abilities. We received an additional 38 murals that have been mounted to the warehouses on Pier 8.
